The North Carolina Tar Heels are now 3-0 on the early 2022 season after escaping Atlanta with a win over Georgia State.
It wasn’t easy and the Tar Heels fell behind in the second half, blowing a 21-3 lead, but in the end they did enough to get the win. And that’s all that matters.
Drake Maye led a few scoring drives in the second half to rally the Tar Heels back and eventually earn the 35-28 win. For now, the Tar Heels can celebrate this game but it’s clear that there is work to do as they head into the bye week before a big five-game stretch that begins with Notre Dame.
