The UNC basketball program was able to avoid a major upset on Wednesday night that may have saved any hope they had at making the NCAA Tournament.
After training by 8 in what was a historically bad first half, the Tar Heels came out with a different attitude in the second half. And it paid off.
The Tar Heels scored 13 quick points to grab a lead and while the two teams went back-and-forth, UNC had an answer every time for Notre Dame. That included big buckets from Armando Bacot and R.J. Davis down the stretch, preserving the win.
UNC is now 17-11 on the year and 9-8 in conference play after the win over Notre Dame. With three games left, they still have two Quad-1 opportunities left and pretty much have to win out to get in.
Before we get ready for Saturday’s matchup against Virginia, let’s take a look at some of the best photos from Wednesday’s game.
