Hubert Davis should be pleased with the effort the UNC basketball program came out with on Saturday afternoon against Virginia Tech.
After stumbling on the road Tuesday night at Syracuse, the Tar Heels avoided a losing streak by beating the Hokies 96-81 in the Dean Dome. The win moved the Tar Heels to 20-6 overall and they kept their lead in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings by a half game.
With an 11-point lead at halftime, the Tar Heels held off a few runs in the second half from the Hokies. And when they needed a bucket the most, they went to Armando Bacot who had 25 points and 13 rebounds in another double-double. RJ Davis also added 20 points in the win.
