It was an up-and-down first season for DeShaun Foster as head coach of the UCLA Bruins football program.
it was also a struggle in the first year of the new-look Big Ten Conference. However, the Bruins ended on a positive note with a 20-13 win over Fresno State at the Rose Bowl on Saturday.
The Bruins trailed 10-6 at halftime but outscored Fresno State 14-3 in the second half to end the year with a win and a 5-7 record, one win short of becoming eligible for a bowl game.
Ethan Garbers connected with J. Michael Sturdivant on a touchdown pass with less than two minutes left to extend the lead to 10 and ultimately seal the deal.
