Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel returned to No. 13 Oklahoma (3-1, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday in Week 4. Heupel guided the Vols to a 25-15 road win against the Sooners.
He was the Sooners’ starting quarterback from 1999-2000 and won the 2000 BCS national championship. Heupel also served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma from 2003-14.
No. 7 Tennessee (4-0, 1-0 SEC) totaled 345 yards to Oklahoma’s 222 offensive yards. The Vols also recorded 19 consecutive quarters without allowing an offensive touchdown (Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1-third quarter at Oklahoma).
