Tennessee baseball advanced to the College World Series best-of-three championship series. The Vols advance to the College World Series Finals for the first time since 1951.
Tennessee (58-12, 22-8 SEC) defeated Florida State (49-17, 17-12 ACC), 7-2, on Wednesday at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.
Tennessee also became the first school in NCAA Division I history to have five players with 20-plus home runs in one season. The only other program to have four players with 20 or more home runs in a season was Alabama in 1997.
Below are photos of Tennessee’s win versus the Seminoles and advancing to the championship series against Texas A&M. If Tennessee were to win the College World Series Finals, the Vols would become the first team in SEC history to reach 60 victories in a season.
