New Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka never had anything handed to him as a journeyman NBA player, carving out a career for himself with an elite work ethic that kept him in a league he fought his way into after going undrafted for seven long years.
Udoka pointed to that life experience and his foundational time as an assistant under legendary San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, with the Philadelphia 76ers and most recently the Brooklyn Nets in his introductory speech on Monday. “I’ll take something from all those stops as I did as a player, [and] coach as well,” Udoka explained in his introductory presser.
Let’s take a look at those stops on the path of the new Celtics coach to taking the helm in Boston.
