North Carolina is now facing elimination in the College World Series after a tough 6-1 loss to Tennessee on Sunday night.
Going into this game, North Carolina knew it would be a tough challenge as Tennessee is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. Both teams were coming off walk-off wins on Friday, riding some momentum. But it was the Volunteers that jumped out to the 3-0 lead early and never really looked back.
North Carolina’s bats couldn’t muster much as the lone run came from Vancey Honeytcutt on a solo home run. UNC tallied just five total hits in the game and never built up any momentum.
