The Texas A&M football team went into the swamp and bagged a Gator in an impressive win behind the arm of redshirt freshman Marcel Reed. The 33-20 victory over Florida gives head coach Mike Elko his first SEC win and some good momentum as they head back to Bryan-College Station.
Not only was it Mike Elko’s first signature win as the head man in Aggieland, but it also broke an SEC road losing streak that dated back to the 2021 season. He made a simple comment that put a smile on all Aggies fan faces after the game.
“It’s now been zero days since we won an SEC road game. That’s a positive.”
They overcame an injury to starting quarterback, Conner Weigman, and a weather delay which they returned to a wet field with rain. Backup quarterback Marcel Reed looked extremely comfortable running the offense and helped lead the team to their second straight 300+ rushing yard game.
There was a lot to like and a lot to clean up from the game, however, it was a win that showed them moving in the right direction. Below you can see some of the best images from the win on Saturday.
