Vance Honeycutt and the North Carolina Tar Heels did it again.
After North Carolina took a 1-0 lead in the first inning against Virginia in Omaha, the Tar Heels had to play the role of comeback kids. That’s something they’ve been familiar with so far in postseason play.
With Virginia leading 2-1, the Tar Heels managed to get a run back and tie it at 2 in the seventh inning. Then the stage was set for Vance Honeycutt who delivered a walk-off single to move UNC in the winner’s bracket and send Virginia to the loser’s bracket.
Honeycutt’s single gave UNC the win as they will now go on to face Tennessee on Sunday.
