The total purse this week is $1,750,000 million with the first-place check good for $262,500.

SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN, Ariz. —  Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club is the host site of the first full-field event on the LPGA’s 2023 schedule.

The season opened in Florida followed by two overseas events, so the LPGA Drive On Championship is the first chance for many of the tour’s pros to compete this season. Further, this is the LPGA debut for nearly two dozen rookies.

The field of 144 started with six of the top 10 players in the latest Rolex Rankings but did see one withdrawal late in the day Thursday, as Danielle Kang had to pull out after 14 holes.

Superstition Mountain opened in 1999 and consists of two golf courses, Lost Gold and Prospector, which is the tournament course this week. Prospector measures 6,690 yards and will play as a par 72. The par-5 18th hole is this week’s Aon Risk Reward challenge hole.

The total purse this week is $1,750,000 with the first-place check good for $262,500.
