Everyone said beforehand this Oregon-Washington game was going to go down as one of the great ones in the series history.
It would have been difficult to live up to the hype, but somehow this contest did. Unfortunately, it didn’t go the Ducks’ way as Washington edged out Oregon 36-33.
This game was a 43-yard field goal away from going to overtime, which would have made it even more epic. But Camden Lewis’ kick sailed right as the clock went to zeros.
There were big plays by all units on both sides, but ultimately, it was the Washington defense that came up with three plays to stop the Oregon offense to give Michael Penix a few chances to win the game. For a quarterback such as Penix, that’s probably three more chances Oregon could afford.
