Calvin Ridley was a dominant wide receiver while at Alabama, and his transition to the NFL was nearly seamless. However, he now looks to return to the league after a nearly two-year-long hiatus.
In 2021, he took time away from the game to focus on his mental health. Then, in 2022, he missed the entire season due to a suspension stemming from violations of the NFL’s gambling policy. During his suspension, the Atlanta Falcons traded him to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
His third season in the league, back in 2020, was his strongest. He posted a career-high 90 receptions, a career-high 1,374 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
The upcoming 2023 season will have Ridley in a new environment, a more stable quarterback situation and a fresh start.
Currently, Ridley and his new Jaguars teammates are preparing for the season at training camp. Here are a few images of Ridley sporting his new number and jersey.
