Arkansas rehired Bobby Petrino in a football coaching capacity on Tuesday evening, a move that many people said and thought would never happen.
After the fallout from the April 1, 2012 wreck ended in his firing from Jeff Long and subsequent decade of doom for the Razorback football program, time just seems to be a flat circle.
Bobby Petrino has agreed to return to @RazorbackFB as offensive coordinator and a deal is being finalized, sources tell ESPN. Petrino won 10 games in 2010 and 11 in 2011 as the Hogs’ head coach, but was fired following the motorcycle accident scandal.

Petrino was most recently the offensive coordinator at Texas A&M in 2023, where the team ultimately fired Jimbo Fisher but finished a respectable 7-5 and is awaiting a bowl destination. His Aggies offense finished 26th nationally in scoring and 54th in total offense, whereas Arkansas was 72nd and 108th, respectively.
He was 34-17 during his head coaching tenure here, including an 11-2 record his final year and a top five national finish.
Here are the best images from that tenure.
