For the second time in three games, No. 18 Auburn was unable to keep up with its opponent, this time the Tigers lost 74-71 to the USC Trojans Sunday night in Los Angeles.
It was not the start the Tigers wanted to their West coach road trip. Auburn’s late rally came just short as [autotag]K.D. Johnson[/autotag] made two free throws with 8 seconds to play to make it a 71-69 USC lead.
The Trojans only made one of their ensuing field goals giving Auburn one last chance. Johnson was once again fouled and drained his first field goal to cut it to a two-point USC lead again. His attempt to intentionally miss the second one and for Auburn to tip it in was thwarted when he accidentally made it and USC held on for the win.
