It took two extra periods, but Arkansas was able to overcome poor shooting and make enough key plays to dispatch Stanford and advance to the winner’s bracket of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday night.
In the process, it became the Razorbacks’ first win over the Cardinal in school history, in just the third time playing them.
Tramon Mark had 25 points to lead Arkansas, and he was crucial at the foul line, especially in crunch time.
Now Arkansas looks ahead to today’s 4 p.m. meeting with the Memphis Tigers, coached by one Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway, who was once a thorn in the Razorbacks’ side in the early 1990s.
