Former North Carolina forward Nassir Little will have to find a new home in the NBA for the upcoming season.
After spending one season with the Phoenix Suns, the franchise opted to move on from Little, waiving the forward on Wednesday. Little was acquired by the Suns in September of 2023 in the deal that featured Damian Lillard to Milwaukee, Deandre Ayton and Jrue Holliday to Milwaukee and Little, Grayson Allen and Keon Johnson go to Phoenix.
In his one season, Little appeared in 45 games, starting two of them. He only averaged 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game while playing 1.4 minutes per game.
The Phoenix Suns are waiving forwards Nassir Little and EJ Liddell, per sources. By releasing both, the Suns open up a roster spot and create flexibility for signings and trades during the season. Little is still owed $22M on the deal he signed with Portland, as the Suns will stretch it out over three years. The move also allows the Suns to have an open roster spot that they can use for flexibility this offseason or during the season.
Little shouldn’t be out of a job for long, however. He’s only 24 years old and should find a home on a roster soon.
