Philip Rivers hasn’t been great against the Vikings historically

Rivers is just 1-3 against the Vikings. His last win against Minnesota was back in 2011.

Colts quarterback Philip Rivers will go up against the Vikings for the fifth time in his career and his first with Indianapolis.

In his career, Rivers is 1-3 against the Vikings with a completion percentage of 61.9% (down nearly 3% from his career average), four touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Rivers’ last game against the Vikings was last season in Week 15. Rivers threw for 307 passes and a touchdown, but he also threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. The Chargers lost 39-10.

Will Rivers be able to turn things around in 2020? The good news for him is that the Vikings’ defensive backfield somehow looks worse than it did last year through Week 1.

Rivers’ numbers were actually solid in a Week 1 loss against the Jaguars. He threw for 363 yards and at touchdown, but in true Rivers’ fashion, he also threw two interceptions.

Maybe it’s an NFC North thing. Rivers has a combined 6-10 record against the NFC North. The only division his teams have been worse in is the NFC South. His teams are 3-10 in those games.
