The Philadelphia Eagles have been known to draft and sign former Alabama players over the years. On Thursday morning, the Eagles agreed to terms with former Crimson Tide wide receiver Cam Sims.
Sims spent four seasons at Alabama. He reeled in 41 receptions for 467 yards and two touchdowns.
The Louisiana native went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Commanders. In five seasons with the organization, Sims hauled in 57 receptions for 804 yards and three touchdowns.
Following the 2022 season, Sims became a free agent. He would sign a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. Several months after signing the deal, Sims was released. Less than a week later, he signed with the New York Giants practice squad. He spent a little over a month with the organization before being released.
Now, he has the opportunity to prove himself for one of the league’s top teams. He will join former fellow Alabama wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Julio Jones. Sims will also catch passes from former Alabama teammate Jalen Hurts. It is an interesting move at an interest point in Sims’ professional career.
Congratulations to our very own Cam Sims (@Silkysims17) on signing a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles! 🥂
