Eagles fans were thrown into a frenzy over the weekend when star quarterback Carson Wentz sat out the team’s end of training camp scrimmage with what was described as a lower-body injury.
For a guy constantly fighting off the notion that he’s injury-prone, Wentz landing on the injury report brought back some of those feelings that make Eagles fans queasy when the topic of the franchise signal-caller possibly missing any more extended time due to injury.
On Tuesday, Doug Pederson calmed some of the fans worry telling the media during a zoom session that Wentz injury was minor and he’d be ready to face the Washington Football Team in less than two weeks.
Pederson said Carson Wentz would typically take some rest this week (week of 4th preseason game). Said Wentz's injury is "nothing major" and will be ready to play.

Coach Doug says the “lower body” injury to @cj_wentz is “minor” and that he will be “ready to go” for opener at Washington. Says all “day-to-day” injured players are on track to play in first game.#FlyEaglesFly

Likely just a rest day, Wentz is the team’s franchise star and as the Eagles continue to figure out who’ll start at left tackle, placing him in the way of any unnecessary risk going forward would be counterproductive to the goals at hand.
