Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond clears health and safety protocols, returns to practice

Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond has returned from health and safety protocols and is back in practice, according to Keith Pompey.

Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond has returned from health and safety protocols and was in practice today, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Drummond entered protocols on Dec. 19, ahead of a scheduled matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Sixers are 3-1 since he went into protocols, winning each of the last two games.

Drummond has featured in 29 games for the Sixers this season, including 11 starts. In his 19.7 minutes on average, he has put up six points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game for Philly. The four-time rebounding leader signed with the Sixers in August after splitting time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers last season.

Despite splitting time in the frontcourt with star center Joel Embiid, the Sixers average the fewest rebounds per game in the NBA (41.7). They have hit that average just once since Drummond entered protocols, getting him back should help in that department.
