Previewing Monday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Utah Jazz NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The top two seeds in each conference meet Monday when the Philadelphia 76ers (18-9) visit the Utah Jazz (22-5) at Vivint Arena Monday. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the 76ers-Jazz NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Philadelphia has dropped two straight games entering Monday and is just 3-3 straight up and 2-3-1 against the spread since the beginning of February.

The Jazz are lighting the Association on fire by winning 18 of their last 19 games and covering the spread in 17 of those contests.

76ers at Jazz: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

76ers 110, Jazz 106

Money line (ML)

Let me caveat this handicap by saying there’s no way you can bet Philadelphia if Embiid, who’s listed as questionable, cannot play tonight. If Embiid is in there, I lean 76ERS (+240) for a one-fifth-unit because I like Philadelphia plus the points.

Against the spread (ATS)

BET 76ERS +7.5 (-115) heavier or instead of the money line if Embiid is active. Philadelphia PG Ben Simmons has mitigated Utah SG Donovan Mitchell’s production in the last six 76ers-Jazz games as Mitchell is averaging 20.2 points per game on .350/.184/.640 shooting in those contests.

Also, this is a game where first-year 76ers SG Seth Curry can shine; Curry averaged 18.7 points on .704/.667/1.000 shooting in three games against the Jazz last season while a member of the Dallas Mavericks. The gravitational pull of Embiid’s offensive repertoire can help the shooters on Philadelphia get wide-open looks.

Finally, the best way to beat the 76ers is by taking advantage of their ball security. Philadelphia is 28th in turnover percentage and 28th in opponent’s points per game off of turnovers, but the Jazz are dead-last in defensive turnover rate and 24th in points off of turnovers per game.

Over/Under (O/U)

The 76ers need to stop the Jazz from gassing past them from behind the arc and Philadelphia’s 3-point defense against Utah has been on-point in recent years. The median for team 3-point percentage is 36.0% this season and the Jazz have shot better than 36.0% from deep just once against the 76ers in their last six meetings.

Combined with how Philadelphia’s defense matches up with Utah and the absence of Conley, I give a real shot to the 76ers at doing the unthinkable: Stopping the Jazz’s offense.

GIMME UNDER 225.5 (-105) for 1 unit.
