No one promotes a product like Phil Mickelson – whether it is a new Callaway driver, a Mizzen+Main dress shirt for golf or California Highway Patrol sunglasses.
Mickelson’s latest? His own specially-brewed brand of coffee.
The Forecaddie first observed Mickelson with a pep in his step at the 2016 Ryder Cup. As Mickelson tells it, when he was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis six years ago he underwent a battery of tests, including one for food and allergies, and determined he had a negative reaction to the over-the-counter herbal drug Echinacea, which he had been taking to build up his immune system.
“But I was getting sick five times a year,” Mickelson said at the time. “It turns out coffee does for my immune system what Echinacea does for others.”

Mickelson never drank coffee before, but he has since acquired a taste.
“I drink it all day long now. It’s built up my immune system,” says Mickelson, who claimed he hasn’t been sick in a decade.
Phil being Phil, he’s developed his own blend along with TPI’s Dave Phillips, and taken coffee-drinking to another level. He investigated various coffee beans and settled on an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe with a light to medium body for a brew that may be more complicated than pouring the perfect Arnold Palmer.
Mickelson and Phillips are prepping to launch Coffee for Wellness, according to the company web site, which describes the drink as “an exceptionally high-quality coffee blend, roasted to preserve coffee’s natural antioxidants to help you reduce stress, resist fatigue, and improve cognitive function and performance. We combine this superb coffee with Phil’s signature blend of powerful ingredients in individual sachets (packets) to give your coffee an added wellness boost.”
“It’s a smooth, buttery, flavorful coffee without adding sugar or stuff,” Mickelson once told Golfweek. “I travel with my own kit everywhere. I’ve got an air press – not a French press, but an air press. You know me, when I go down a path, I go all in.”
And who knows, maybe Mickelson’s coffee could be his drink the way lemonade and ice tea became Arnold Palmer’s signature drink. We suggest they call it the Lefty.
According to CoffeeForWellness.com, you can join its pre-sale list and be the first to know when Coffee for Wellness™ is available for purchase, and its latest tweet suggests that it will be telling the world in the next few weeks.
Look out, Starbucks, there’s soon to be a new competitor in the business.
