The Cardinals began their offseason program on Tuesday.

The Arizona Cardinals have officially begun work for the 2023. On Tuesday, the team began Phase 1 of the offseason program.

Players voluntarily can be in Tempe to begin strength and conditioning work.

In Phase 1, for two weeks, teams begin four hours of voluntary work.

According to the NFLPA, these are the rules for the four hours.

  • They are limited to strength and conditioning activities.
  • Only strength and conditioning coaches are allowed on the field.
  • On-field work are considered “dead-ball” activities:
    • Quarterbacks can throw to receivers with no coverage.
    • Kickers and punters can kick, but players cannot field the ball and no snappers or holders can be involved.
    • Long snappers can snap into a net.
    • Defensive players may not catch balls at all regardless of who is throwing them.
  • There is a 90-minute maximum amount of time on the field.
  • Clubs can only specify two hours for players to be at the facility.
  • Players choose the other two hours for weights, etc.
