NFL free agency is set to begin on March 18, and several former Alabama standouts will be looking for new contracts as the 2020 league year begins.

As a result of free agency, Charean Williams with Pro Football Talk compiled a list of the top 100 unrestricted and restricted free agents currently available, which included six former Crimson Tide players.

It should be noted that this list is subject to change if a player reaches an agreement with their former team or if the franchise tag is placed on a guy set to his the free agent market.

But for now, here is where those six former Alabama players rank amongst the top 100 players available:

5. Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper

Amari Cooper is considered the top available, non-quarterback free agent on offense, and the ranking is justified. Cooper was originally selected by the Oakland Raiders, now relocated to Las Vegas, with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

He proceeded to post back-to-back 1,000-plus yard seasons to start his career, but was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2018 for a first-round pick.

What has Cooper done since the trade? Well in 24 regular season games for Dallas, he’s produced 132 receptions for 1,914 yards and 14 touchdowns, which is an outstanding return.

The question is whether Cooper will be back in Dallas or not. The team is currently in talks with several of its other high-profile free agents, including quarterback Dak Prescott (No. 1 free agent available) and cornerback Byron Jones (No. 13).
