The PFF NFL Podcast recently discussed their list of top-50 NFL players, and Anthony Harris was heavily covered.
Harris, who ranked 30th in the list done by PFF, earned a 91.1 out of 100 from the outlet for his performance in 2019. Here’s what PFF’s Sam Monson said about Harris:
“You can make a case that Anthony Harris has been the best safety in the NFL,” Monson said. “Basically, every step of grading we have on him is really good. And then the more they increase his playing time, the better he’s gotten.”
Steve Palazzolo said that those who don’t follow Pro Football Focus’ free agency rankings might be surprised to see Harris ranked at No. 30. Despite his level of play, Harris has only had one full year as a starter, which was 2019. He also started nine games in 2018.
“I don’t know where the league’s perception is on Anthony Harris,” Monson said. “I thought he would hit the open market this year, because I didn’t think the Vikings would bring him back, then at least we would get a gauge of somebody’s opinion on him, by the contract he ended up receiving.”
But Harris signed his franchise tender and is staying with Minnesota for the time being. Hopefully, the Vikings can lock him in for the future.
