PFF thinks Dalvin Cook is going excel as pass catcher in 2020

Cook falls off a bit in rushing yards, but makes up for it as a receiver out of the backfield.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook had himself a great 2019 season, both in real-life football standards and in fantasy football standards.

He finished with 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns to go with 53 catches for 519 yards.

Of course, injuries during the fantasy playoffs didn’t help but here we are.

The folks over at Pro Football Focus have projected what the 2020 season could look like for fantasy post-free-agency. They are high on Cook’s chances to have yet another solid season.

Jeff Ratcliffe of PFF has Cook finishing the 2020 season with 921 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns and 67 catches for 548 yards and three touchdowns. Those 67 catches would rank fourth among all running backs.

While that’s a decrease in total yards and touchdowns, it is an increase of 14 catches.

I would imagine that this accounts for Cook missing some time during the 2020 season. If he played in all 16 games, that has Cook averaging just 57 rushing yards per game.

Spoiler: Losing Stefon Diggs doesn’t impact Kirk Cousins as much as you’d think.
