Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon is the 15th-most elusive back in the NFL, according to rankings from ProFootballFocus.com.
Gordon is coming off a somewhat down season that started with a holdout. He could rise up PFF’s rankings with a bounceback year in 2020.
“Gordon does own the most broken tackles in the NFL from 2015 to 2018, but he’ll need to show he can return to that form with the Broncos in a crowded backfield next season,” PFF’s Ben Linsey wrote.
Elsewhere in the AFC West, Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is ranked No. 2 and Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is ranked No. 6. Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is ranked second among rookies behind Cam Akers.
PFF did not rank Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay because the website only ranked starters (and they’re assuming Gordon will start).
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb is ranked No. 1 on PFF’s list.
