PFF ranks the PPR value of Melvin Gordon and Jonathan Taylor

As the NFL season moves closer many fantasy owners are starting to look at mock drafts, last year’s statistics, and online rankings to start forming an idea of what they want their team to look like this season. As the NFL season moves closer many fantasy owners are starting to look at mock drafts, last year’s statistics, and online rankings to start forming an idea of what they want their team to look like this season. Wisconsin fans now will be looking to draft two former Badger running backs early on in their fantasy drafts.

Jonathan Taylor and Melvin Gordon are both ranked in the top 25 running backs for PPR value by PFF this season with Gordon ranking at 14 and Taylor coming in at 25.

Gordon is ranked so much higher than Taylor because of all he has proven in the NFL, and even after moving to the Denver Broncos from the Los Angeles Chargers this season, he is predicted to have a better year than last year. He appears to have the starting role locked down with the Broncos, compared to Taylor who is going to have to compete with Marlon Mack for reps. Yes, Gordon might have to split some snaps with Phillip Lindsay, but he is coming in as the starter after signing a $16 million deal with the Broncos in the spring.

Jonathan Taylor is a risky fantasy bet going into this season because of the uncertainty surrounding his role but could be a great sleeper option if he is able to overcome a limited snap count and can prove himself as the Colts starting running back. Melvin Gordon will likely have another outstanding fantasy season with the Broncos, who will rely on him to help take some of the pressure off of Drew Lock.
