PFF ranks Quenton Nelson No. 2 in Top 25 under 25

Big Q is doing extraordinary things at a young age.

Indianapolis Colts left guard Quenton Nelson took the league by storm as soon as he was selected with the No. 6 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The hype hasn’t stopped as he continues to prove he is on pace to be one of the best at his position.

With two All-Pro selections through his first two seasons, Nelson is already in the argument for the best guard in the NFL. Being able to do so at such a young age makes it even more remarkable.

Pro Football Focus ranked Nelson the second-best player in the NFL under the age of 25.

Age at kickoff: 24 years, 5 months, 22 days

Nelson was about as easy an NFL projection as you can get coming out of Notre Dame, and it’s no surprise that he has wasted no time in cementing his spot as one of the best guards in the NFL. He raised his grade from 79.4 as a rookie to 91.2 this past season, and his 88.8 grade over the last two seasons combined is higher than any other interior offensive lineman in the league over that span. To be as dominant as Nelson has been at his age is a rarity in the NFL.

Nelson has been extremely productive holding down the left guard position. He has proven just how much of an impact he can have on the offensive line and even though the guard positions aren’t considered premium, the Colts were right to follow their board during the 2018 draft.

Not only has Nelson been productive, but he’s also been reliable. He has started all 16 games in each of his first two seasons while only missing a handful of snaps in 2019.

The Colts have a strong young core of players, and Nelson is leading the way as one of the best overall players in the league.
