The Chargers might have not had the 2020 season that they were hoping for, as they currently sit with a 4-9 record with only three games left to be played. However, there have been a few players that have helped elevate the team, even if the outcome wasn’t in their favor.
Two of the standout players were mentioned by Pro Football Focus’ Sam Monson as possible Pro Bowl selections. They were wide receiver Keenan Allen and edge defender Joey Bosa.
Monson highlights Allen’s magnet hands, as he leads all receivers in targets (136) and has just two drops on the season. Meanwhile, Bosa represents one of top four grades at the position.
Despite having a rookie quarterback, Allen, this season, has 90 catches for 923 yards and is tied for career-high eight touchdowns. He broke a record held by Antonio Brown, which is the most receptions in the first 100 career games.
On the other hand, Bosa continues to wreak havoc after getting paid this past offseason. The 25-year old has 40 pressures, 27 quarterback hits, 15 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Even though it won’t be happening after the season due to COVID-19, you can still vote your favorite Chargers players into the Pro Bowl here.
