The struggles of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive line in 2019 were well documented and most fans will go into the 2020 offseason hoping the team adds one to two players for the unit. When the Jags clear out some cap space, one option will be to find some options in free agency as there are needs at both tackle and guard.

Pro Football Focus recently put together their list of top-100 free agents and assigned each team a player who would be a good fit from the list. The Jags, of course, were slotted an offensive lineman in Graham Glasgow of the Detroit Lions.

Jacksonville Jaguars: G Graham Glasgow

The Jaguars have little money to spend in free agency, but with what they do have, they need to do something at right guard. A.J. Cann and Will Richardson Jr. split time there, and they both had poor performances, with PFF grades of 54.8 and 43.0, respectively. Graham Glasgow hadn’t played right guard in his NFL career until this past year, and it was his best season yet. His PFF grade was eighth best among 28 qualifying guards, and he didn’t allow a single sack.

Glasgow finished 2019 with a grade of 74.1, which would’ve been the second-best on the Jags’ offensive line only under Brandon Linder. He also allowed zero sacks and only had three penalties, both of which are areas the Jags could improve in. As mentioned, that would make him an upgrade over A.J. Cann, who the Jags can’t seem to move away from.

However, when looking at the Jags history of spending money in free agency on lineman, it isn’t good. They’ve swung and missed on guys like Zane Beadles and Andrew Norwell in the past, so I think they should test their luck in the draft instead and save themselves some money.
