PFF: Jets offensive line ranked amongst best in NFL:

The top storyline relating to the New York Jets offensive line ahead of facing the Denver Broncos is a player who won’t suit up.

Pro Football Focus has said it might not really matter.

The football analytics outlet has ranked every offensive line in the NFL ahead of Week 4. The Jets (2-1) have seen their unit land high on the list despite the loss of Morgan Moses.

Moses, New York’s right tackle, will be replaced by first-round rookie Olu Fashanu against the Broncos (1-2) because of a knee injury. PFF still has the Jets’ unit as the sixth-best in the league right now.

Currently, PFF grades the Jets’ upcoming starting O-line as follows:

  • Tyron Smith: 68.9
  • John Simpson: 64.4
  • Joe Tippmann: 82.9
  • Alijah Vera-Tucker: 70.6
  • Olu Fashanu: 70.8

PFF’s full breakdown on the Jets offensive line can be found below:

Right tackle Morgan Moses left Week 3’s game with a knee injury and was replaced by Olu Fashanu. The rookie played 14 snaps and earned a 70.8 PFF overall grade, the second-highest score on the Jets’ offensive line.

Center Joe Tippmann continues his strong sophomore season. The Wisconsin product’s 85.8 PFF overall grade in the win against New England was a career-high mark, and his 82.9 PFF overall grade through three weeks ranks fourth among centers.

Best player: Tyron Smith
Smith’s 2024 season is off to a rough start, as he is allowing pressure on 9.2% of dropbacks — the worst rate of his career.
