In the last few weeks, Pro Football Focus has been releasing its in-depth statistics for the 2019-2020 season. The most recent statistic released was the most yards after contact since 2017, which not surprisingly, former Badger running back Jonathan Taylor won by a large margin.
Taylor has racked up an insane 3,920 yards after contact since 2017, while the next closest running backs are AJ Dillon with 2,980 yards and J.K. Dobbins with 2,652 yards.

The difference of nearly 1000 yards between Taylor and Dillon shows just how dominant Jonathan Taylor was over his entire career at Wisconsin. This can also end the criticism of Taylor that his stats came from having a great offensive line. This statistic shows how many yards Taylor had after he didn’t have protection from blockers and was hit, which means that these yards are all earned by him. As these statistics and rankings keep coming out from PFF about Jonathan Taylor, I am getting more and more convinced of how good he is going to be this season in the NFL.
