It was a big day on the offensive side of the ball for several Indianapolis Colts players against the New York Giants.
So which players received the highest marks from Pro Football Focus?
But first, as I always do, I want to provide some context around these grades, which is that while they are helpful in quantifying a player’s performance, PFF’s grading system is not the be-all-end-all. Rather, it is one metric out of many that exist and should be treated as such.
Having said that, generally speaking, if a player performs well, their PFF grade reflects that.
Here is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:
90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor
TE Kylen Granson
PFF grade: 85.2
Granson caught 3-of-4 passes for 34 yards in this game and two of those receptions helped pick up first downs to keep the offense on the field. Granson also graded out well as a run-blocker in this game.
WR Michael Pittman
PFF grade: 83.4
In a must-win game, Pittman had one of this most productive performances of the season, which is what your best players are supposed to do. Pittman caught 9-of-10 passes for 109 yards and touchdown, picking up six first downs.
WR Alec Pierce
PFF grade: 82.9
What a return for Pierce after missing last week’s game against Tennessee. As he does, he provided that big play threat, averaging 20.3 yards per catch and totaling 122 yards with a touchdown. It won’t show up on the stat sheet, but Pierce also drew a 44 yard defensive pass interference penalty as well.
Honorable Mentions
QB Joe Flacco: 76.9
OL Mark Glowinski: 70.3
TE Drew Ogletree: 69.5
