PFF grades: Colts best and worst performances vs Titans in Week 16

Following the Colts’ Week 16 win over the Titans, here is the team’s best and worst performances, according to Pro Football Focus.

With the dust having settled on the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 16 win over the Titans, Pro Football Focus has now had the chance to review the tape and hand out their weekly grades.

So which Colts players received the highest marks and which players did not?

But first, before we dive into that, it’s important to keep in mind that although PFF’s grading system is help in that it quantifies a player’s performance, it is not the be-all-end-all either. It’s one evaluation metric out of numerous that are out there and should be treated as such.

Here is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

Below you will find which Colts’ players did not receive high grades from PFF. However, if you would like a more optimistic, glass-half-full type of outlook, you can find a full breakdown of the Colts highest graded offensive players here, and their highest-graded defenders here.

CB David Long Jr.

PFF grade: 29.9

Long only played nine snaps, taking over for Jaylon Jones when he exited the game with an injury. However, in that limited playing time, he was penalized twice, which ultimately brought down his grade significantly. Long did not register any stats.

RG Mark Glowinski

PFF grade: 35.9

Obviously, given Jonathan Taylor’s performance on the ground along with Anthony Richardson being pressured on only three of his 14 dropbacks, it was a very good day for the Colts’ offensive line. However, PFF did not grade out Glowinski very well. He was credited with allowing a sack and his run blocking grade was only 42.6. According to PFF’s charting, Taylor totaled only 22 yards on six carries running towards Glowinski.

S Julian Blackmon

PFF grade: 44.0

Blackmon would make three tackles in this game, but he missed three as well, according to PFF, which really brought down his overall grade. And while he was credited with allowing only one reception for six yards, as the team’s free safety, it looked like there were some missed opportunities to provide help over the top on completions to Calvin Ridley.
