The Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster may have seen some significant turnover, but that doesn’t mean the team is void of any star players.
Pro Football Focus gave a list of every NFL team’s best three players, and they specifically mentioned that it was a tough choice for Tampa Bay. In the end, they went with OT [autotag]Tristan Wirfs[/autotag], LB [autotag]Lavonte David[/autotag] and WR [autotag]Mike Evans[/autotag].
Here is what PFF had to say about the trio they picked out:
Though Tom Brady is now retired, this was still a tough roster to get down to three. Wirfs has been one of the best offensive tackles in the league since being drafted in 2020, and he earned a career-high 90.5 pass-blocking grade last season. Despite being on the wrong side of 30, David earned an 85.1 overall grade, which was the third-best mark of his career. Evans beats out Ryan Jensen, Vita Vea, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Chris Godwin. His making history with nine straight 1,000-yard seasons gives him the nod here.
Also Considered: OC Ryan Jensen, DT Vita Vea, S Antoine Winfield Jr., WR Chris Godwin
It is indeed hard to narrow down the three biggest contributors on Tampa Bay’s team, but the three selected here make good cases. Evans and David have been mainstays for the Bucs the decade they’ve played for the team, and there’s a very good argument that Wirfs, in just four seasons with the Bucs, is Jason Licht’s best-ever draft pick.
It also attests to Tampa Bay’s ability to grow talent that of the three players PFF picked and the five also considered, seven of the eight players have only ever played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
