Peyton Manning trolls Chargers for lack of fans

Former Colts and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning poked fun at the Chargers for their lack of fan support.

Peyton Manning seemingly endears himself to Denver Broncos fans more and more every day.

During a recent Zoom call with Denver Nuggets players, Manning was asked about playing games without fans — something the NBA will do during a tournament in Orlando later this month.

Manning replied with a zinger directed at one of the Broncos’ rivals.

“He was like, ‘I’m just not the one to answer that question,’” the Nuggets player told The Denver Post. “’You’d probably have to ask somebody with the [Los Angeles] Chargers or one of these other teams.'”

This isn’t the first time Manning has burned the Chargers. Manning had a 10-4 record against the L.A.-based team during his career and he won the AFC West in all four seasons that he played in Denver.

Broncos running back Melvin Gordon, who spent the first five years of his career with the Chargers, also trolled their lack of fans this offseason. During a June interview, Gordon was asked about the possibility of the NFL playing games without fans in stadiums this season.

“Bro, we didn’t have fans anyway,” Gordon told Marcus Cromartie. “We didn’t have many Chargers fans, I’m being honest we didn’t have many Chargers fans at the games . . . so I’m not missing anything.”
