Two of the NFL’s greatest quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have faced each other plenty of times during their Hall-of-Fame careers. And they took their rivalry to the golf course on Sunday, where they participated in “The Match: Champions for Charity” at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Fla.
Manning and Brady each teamed up with a legendary golfer — Manning with Tiger Woods and Brady with Phil Mickelson — in the celebrity tournament, which has been the talk of the sports world on Sunday.
When Manning was asked who he should’ve brought as his caddie, Manning named two quarterbacks that have had managed to beat Brady in a Super Bowl — his brother Eli Manning, who beat Brady’s Patriots both times they met in the Super Bowl — and new Bears quarterback Nick Foles, who led the Eagles to a 41-33 win over the Patriots en route to a Super Bowl MVP title in 2018.

Foles heard Manning’s request, and he agreed.
I’ll come caddy and help you out against Tom. Let’s go! https://t.co/s55ayPmSAp

Foles also had a suggestion for how to put Brady and Mickelson away.
Peyton, two words, if Tom and Phil start coming back…”Philly Special.” Go win it. #TheMatch2

Following a disappointing season by former first-round pick Mitchell Trubisky, the Bears traded for Foles this offseason to help solidify the position. Foles will battle Trubisky for the starting job, a competition that will carry through into preseason.
While the Bears have been criticized by some for trading a fourth-round pick to acquire Foles and the $21 million guaranteed, it was an easy decision for Chicago. Foles has experience in a Matt Nagy-like offense, and in a shortened offseason that has been confined to a virtual landscape for now, missing that experience on the field won’t serve as a disadvantage for Foles.
Many believe Foles is the favorite to win the starting job for the Bears. Following a 2019 season where Chicago’s offense was one of the worst in the league, the Bears just need a quarterback that can effectively run this offense. And perhaps Foles is that guy.
