Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were longtime rivals, who evolved into longtime friends. And perhaps because of that, the two quarterbacks know each other well enough to easily get the other upset.
So as they both warmed up for “The Match,” a charity golf event for COVID-19 at at Medalist Golf Club in Florida on Sunday, Manning began to talk trash. And he admitted: it’s not easy to get under Brady’s skin. Yet Manning proceeded to do just that in a matter of moments. Manning was talking about who he might invite to be his caddy, if the quarterbacks could have one. Manning’s answer was pretty perfect.

The retired Indianapolis Colts quarterback said he would’ve picked his brother Eli Manning or quarterback Nick Foles — or, curveball, Bill Belichick. (Eli) Manning and Foles are the only quarterbacks to beat Brady in a Super Bowl. And of course, Belichick and Brady just experienced a breakup, with the QB heading to Tampa in free agency. The comment didn’t sit well with Brady, who called out Manning for the “cheap shot.”
Nicely done, Peyton.
