Peyton Manning finalist for Hall of Fame

Former Vol Peyton Manning is finalist for Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Former University of Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning is one of 25 finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the Class of 2021.

Manning, who played for UT between 1994-97, led the Volunteers to the 1997 Southeastern Conference championship.

He went on to have a stellar career in the National Football League that included stints with Indianapolis and Denver.

As a professional, Manning won two Super Bowls (one with the Colts and another with the Broncos). He appeared in the Super Bowl four times.

The former Vol was the No. 1 overall pick by the Colts in the 1998 NFL draft.

He was the Super Bowl XLI Most Valuable player, the NFL MVP five times and the league’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2004 and 2013.

Manning was also the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year in 2012 and the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2005.

He made the Pro Bowl 14 times, was named First-team All-Pro seven times and a second-team selection three times.

Manning is in his first year of eligibility for induction.
