What a day for Arkansas senior Mary Haff.
The ace of the No. 8 Arkansas (18-4) pitching staff got the call in the second game of Jim Dukes Classic, hosted by James Madison, and delivered a performance for the ages.
In the 6-0 win over Maryland, Haff tossed a complete game without allowing a hit or a walk and struck out two-thirds of the batters she faced. In what was a dominating performance throughout, Haff recorded at least two strikeouts per inning in six of the seven innings she pitched, with her best inning being the 6th inning, where she struck out the side on 12 pitches.
That was the second win of the weekend for Haff. In Thursday’s 14-9 win over Liberty, Haff struck out four batters and allowed just one earned run in 2.0 innings of relief.
Arkansas’ win over Maryland was the second of the day. Earlier in the morning, the Razorbacks set a program record by hitting seven home runs in a 19-4 win over Lehigh.
