Well, that certainly didn’t take very long. A day after Orgeon officially announced the hiring of Joe Loring, who had been the special teams coordinator for Penn State, James Franklin and Penn State have unveiled their replacement.
Stacy Collins was announced as the new special teams coordinator, outside linebacker coach, and nickels coach on Tuesday. Collins will come to Penn State after one season at Boise State. In his brief stop in Boise, Collins was at the helm of the special teams to see Boise State kicker Jonah Dalmas set a single-season school record with 26 field goals successfully kicked.
Franklin noted Collins brings a variety of experiences with him to the Pen State program, referencing the many coaching stops Collins has made in his career.
Prior to his stint at Boise State, Collins served five year at Uhh State and has made stops at Central Washington, Idaho, Western Michigan and more.
Collins will replace Joe Lorig, who accepted an offer for a largely lateral move to Oregon.
