Penn State men’s basketball wraps up its non-conference schedule on Friday afternoon at home in the Bryce Jordan Center when they host the Rider Broncos from New Jersey. Penn State is looking to get over .500 before diving head-first back into Big Ten play for the remainder of the season after the new year begins, while Rider is looking to score a bit of an upset. Rider will come into the game with a record of 3-9.
Penn State is 6-1 at home in the Bryce Jordan Center this season but they are just 5-5 in non-conference play. One of those non-conference losses came at home to Bucknell, the only loss at home so far this season for the Nittany Lions. Penn State won their last home game in non-conference play against Le Moyne a little more than a week ago.
Kanye Clary continues to lead the team with 17.3 points per game and Ace Baldwin Jr. is leading the Big Ten with 2.7 steals per game. Rider is led by Mervin James and his team-leading 19.2 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game.
