Penn State offensive lineman finds new home out of the transfer portal

Penn State offensive lineman announces transfer commitment to ACC school

Former Penn State offensive lineman [autotag]Jimmy Christ[/autotag] didn’t need long to figure out what was next for him. Just days after announcing his intention to enter the transfer portal following the conclusion of Penn State’s spring football practices, Christ has announced he is heading to the Virginia Cavaliers of the ACC.

“Thank you to all of the schools that have recruited me during these past few days. I am very grateful for the opportunities I was given and the time each school spent on me,” Christ said in a brief statement posted on his Twitter account. “I have decided to commit to the University of Virginia and am excited for the next chapter of my life.”

Virginia seemed like a likely favorite to land a commitment from Christ. Prior to his commitment to Penn State, Christ had been committed to Virginia during his recruiting process out of high school. Now, he’ll finally end up a Cavalier thanks to the transfer portal.

Christ is a graduate transfer with three years of eligibility at his disposal at Virginia. He will be eligible to play immediately for the Cavaliers this fall.

Christ was a three-star member of Penn State’s Class of 2020 and one of the top 10 players out of the state of Virginia in that recruiting cycle. Christ made appearances in 10 games for Penn State last season, mostly on special teams.
