As Penn State’s 2021 season wraps up, we are officially underway with draft season. On top of that, there are still plenty of recruits to watch, especially the ones coming to Happy Valley next season.
First, let’s take a look at the future of the Penn State quarterback room, with five-star Drew Allar leading the pack.
The 2022 recruits have made their way to the All-American Bowl practice and several players have already opened the eyes of scouts and analysts.
Allar has made some impressive throws during the first few days of practice. Some of his throws are so smooth and fluid, it’s jaw-dropping.

The quarterback situation for Penn State will be interesting next season. During the Outback Bowl, Sean Clifford was benched due to his struggles for freshman quarterback Christian Veilleux. As the 2022 season gets closer, spring practice will be crucial to watch.
It will also be interesting to see if Clifford will be on a leash next season. With Allar’s talent and potential, it’s hard to imagine him not seeing the field his freshman year.
Another player Penn State fans should be ecstatic about is five-star running back Nicholas Singleton. With how inconsistent the run game was this season, watching Singleton practice makes the 2022 running back room look that much more exciting for next season.
Another player to keep an eye is on the defensive side of the ball and that is five-star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton. His speed and physicality have put himself on notice. With Penn State losing key players to the draft, Sutton will be a crucial part of the Nittany Lions defense coached under newly hired defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.
