What’s better than one four-star running back in your recruiting class? That’s easy. Two four-star running backs in your recruiting class!
Penn State added a second four-star running back to its Class of 2022 on Friday with the commitment of Kaytron Allen. Allen is originally from Norfolk, Virginia and is coming to Penn State via IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He joins Nicholas Singleton as the second four-star running back in the current recruiting cycle and is the 19th commitment on the board for the Nittany Lions in 2022.
Allen is the nation’s 10th-ranked running back and 18th-best overall player in talent-rich Florida. Simply put, this is a nice get for James Franklin and running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.
Penn State won the commitment of Allen over a good list of schools including Florida, Georgia, and Michigan State. Florida State may also have been under some serious consideration judging by Allen’s list of recent official and unofficial visits. Allen visited Penn State in early June without much expectation Penn State would jump so high up in the recruiting process.
