New Orleans Pelicans rookie power forward Zion Williamson has been on a tear since returning from a knee injury that kept him out for the first three months of the 2019-20 season. The first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Williamson’s blend of power, explosiveness and two-way playmaking ability had never been seen before, drawing comparisons to Charles Barkley and Blake Griffin that seemed relatively accurate but yet failed to completely capture the player that Williamson is.
Now with 14 games under his belt, Williamson has been on a historic tear and — with 24 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday — has managed to become the first teenager in NBA history to score at least 20 points in 10 consecutive contests.

He came into Friday’s game averaging 23.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.7 steals per game, shooting 57.3% from the field and 41.7% from 3-point range. Williamson has already been living up to the hype and had he been healthy, there’s little chance that he wouldn’t be the frontrunner for the NBA Rookie of the Year.
