The Boston Celtics took on the Philadelphia 76ers in a preseason matchup on Sunday, and it marked the debut of newly acquired stars Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis. But it was newly-extended reserve guard Payton Pritchard who stole the show with a team-high 26 points on a sizzling 9-of-14 from the floor and 6-of-11 from beyond the arc.
In the crucial moments of the fourth quarter, Pritchard delivered an outstanding performance, putting up 16 points in the final frame alone. Thanks to his stellar performance and the team’s effort overall despite the evident rust affecting pretty much everyone on the team save the Oregon native and All-NBA teammate Jaylen Brown, the Celtics secured a 114-106 victory over the 76ers in their preseason showdown.
The team put out a short clip to highlight Pritchard’s big game for the Celtics exhibition tilt with the Sixers.
