Paul Reed discusses success in loss to Nuggets, anxious to return home

Philadelphia 76ers big man Paul Reed discusses his success in a loss to the Denver Nuggets while also being anxious to return home.

For the Philadelphia 76ers to have success on Monday when they visited the Denver Nuggets, they needed contributions from everybody because Joel Embiid and James Harden were sidelined by injuries.

Paul Reed certainly stepped up. He poured in 16 points on 7-for-7 shooting and he had nine rebounds in 16 minutes of playing time. It wasn’t enough in a 116-111 loss to the Nuggets, but the play of Reed was encouraging and he helped Philadelphia work its way back into the contest in the second half.

Afterward, Reed was happy with his play.

“It felt good,” he told reporters. “My main thing I was focusing on was going out there and trying to cut the lead down. We did that. So, that was a good feeling.”

This contest marked the end of a grueling stretch for Philadelphia. It ended a four-game road trip and a stretch in which they played seven of eight games on the road. The Sixers can finally return home and for Reed, he gets to see his dog.

“It’s definitely exciting to be able to go home back to our dogs,” Reed stated. “I know Tyrese (Maxey) has one, I have one. They’re like our kids, so I’m looking forward to that. We are looking forward to it.”

The Sixers play host to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
